Alpine Lakes Loop-
Snowy Range Wyoming
The loop around Browns Peak is an easy trail with a significant climb up and over a rock field. The trail visits a dozen alpine lakes while meandering through meadows full of wildflowers and constant views of the Snowy Range. There’s a chance to see marmots, elk, mule deer and black bears.
Itinerary

Elevation gain: 500 ft
9:00am:Meet at the Centennial Snowy Range Visitor Center. Go over gear and assemble packs.
4pm: Reach camp, set up, relax, cook dinner

Elevation gain: 1,000 ft
Elevation loss: 1,000 ft
No hard start time in morning. Roll out of bed, make breakfast and pack up. Hike 6 miles back to cars.

Weather in the Colorado/Wyoming mountains is unpredictable. Thunderstorms often roll in during the afternoon and even in July, temperatures can fall down to 40 degrees at night. Making sure to have appropriate clothing packed is important as the trip will not be cancelled if there is rain forecasted.
